Is a radiant floor, ceiling or wall system better?

There is no absolute ideal solution. The floor and ceiling are surfaces that can be considered from the outset, while the wall can generally be considered a 'fallback' solution, to be adopted when the first two are not applicable or are not sufficient to meet the building's thermal needs, in this case therefore as a supplement.

The choice of one or the other type of system depends on several factors, including the function of the radiant system, i.e. whether it should work only in heating or also in cooling. For the latter, the radiant ceiling system is usually the most effective solution. Other factors are surface finishes and available space; a ceiling system tends to occupy more space than a floor system, especially in the case of a floor with low thermal inertia such as the Kilma Futura system, as a metal false ceiling structure should be provided for support.

There can be no one-size-fits-all answer: the architect or heating engineer, with the possible support of our technicians, will be able to determine the best solution, based on the actual needs of the home.
