What does dry radiant system mean? Can it be installed on an existing floor?
“Dry” means that a cement screed is not required as with traditional systems; as is well known, the screed is an element that must be made on site and requires a considerable amount of water.
If the flooring were floating parquet or if it were an installation in a false ceiling or on a wall with plasterboard finishing, the construction of the entire system could be carried out “dry”.
We confirm that the Kilma Futura dry system, thanks to its design, its thickness, and its extremely low weight, can easily be installed on existing floors.
In these cases, it is advisable to assess the stability of the flooring on which the system will be installed and the absence of rising damp from it. For installation methods on existing floors, please refer to the technical data sheet and the installation manual of the system, downloadable from our website www.rbm.eu
