Decarbonisation

RBM has actively committed to reducing its carbon footprint by pursuing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals in the environmental domain. This commitment is exemplified by installing three photovoltaic plants at its production sites in Nave (BS), which supplied approximately 28% of the electricity consumption of these sites in 2023, resulting in a reduction of around 342 metric tons of CO2 equivalents.

Simultaneously, the company achieved an additional reduction of approximately 172 metric tons of CO2 equivalents in relation to the national system, thanks to the approximately 670 MWh supplied to the national grid. Solar energy is one of the most efficient solutions for actively participating in decarbonization efforts, reducing gas emissions, promoting sustainable energy supply, and enhancing the company's resilience to fluctuations in the energy market.

RBM also pays attention to the proportion of renewable energy in the energy mix it purchases from the market, with a share of 49% (*) of the energy sourced from renewable sources. Therefore, for 2023, between the renewable electricity produced and the renewable energy sourced from the grid, RBM facilities contributed to an overall reduction in fossil fuel sources of approximately 1,235 metric tons of CO2 equivalent.
